Morris

Morris has found his forever home!!! On Feb. 11th this poor guy was at a local open access shelter and as of today he is in the loving arms of his new family!

Oduya

GREAT NEWS... TAF sponsored Oduya has found his forever home!

TAF first spotted Oduya at one of the TAF sponsored volunteer days at the Animal Welfare League's intake facility.

After seeing that Oduya was still sitting at the shelter, over a month later, TAF asked Project Rescue Chicago if they would work with us to pull Oduya. Once PRC agreed, Oduya was on him way to the vet and eventually his new life.

Congrats to Oduya and his new family... may the rest of your days be filled with happiness and love!

Jade

Look at what a few days of love and affection can do!

9-year-old Jade was recently dropped off at an open access shelter after her owner said that she did not have enough time for her.

Jade has great manners and knows basic commands, and is very easy to be around. She loves all people and kids. It seems like she didn't have much exposure to other dogs…while she was never aggressive, she was uncomfortable. Jade did best with a small relaxed female dog so that may be an option for he, or she may be best as an only dog. She can walk with other dogs and is totally fine, just isn't much for playtime!

Faye

UNBELIEVABLE NEWS... TAF sponsored Faye has found her forever home!!!

TAF found Faye sick and miserable at a TAF volunteer day, a few months ago, at a local open access shelter. Project Rescue Chicago found a foster home for Faye and TAF sponsored her medical care. Faye was hospitalized for 8 days with severe pneumonia, on IV fluids and antibiotics and received breathing treatments several times a day. Three weeks after she was released from the hospital, Faye was finally healthy enough to get spayed and was ready for adoption.

Faye's new family fell in love with her merle coat and expressive eyes...and made the trip from the far northwest burbs to meet her with their two male dogs (not in the photo.) All three dogs got along very well, and will surely enjoy their 2 acre yard for playtime. The little girl (3) in the family was thrilled! Faye is so petite at 35 pounds that she was just the right size to sleep with the little girl in her room. She actually cried the first time they left without Faye, and could barely contain herself when they came back to pick her up!

We are so happy that we took a chance on Faye and that our volunteers and facebook friends spread the word about her story... thank you to all!

It just goes to show you, when people work together great things can happen. In this case, a second chance was given and happiness now resonates in one lucky family.

Jolene

TAF came across this stressed out girl at our last volunteer day at a local open access shelter. Poor Jolene was an owner surrender and she was really struggling in the shelter environment. If you take a look at the bottom left photo, you can see the tufts of fur that were falling off of Jolene’s coat due to stress.

Luckily for Jolene, Project Rescue Chicago and TAF agreed that this scared pooch needed to get out of the facility ASAP. Within days, Jolene was out of the shelter, being treated at the vet and into a wonderful PRC foster home.

As you can see in Jolene’s photo with her new mom, she is happy as could be and her coat looks beautiful. Jolene’s life has taken a 180-degree turn and she has received the coveted second chance that so many rescue dogs will never get.

TAF would like to wish Jolene and her new mom all of the happiness in the world and we look forward to receiving updates on all of their adventures together!

Tommy Hawk

When we first saw Tommy Hawk he was throwing up in is cage because he could not handle the stress of the shelter. After a few days at the vet, our newly neutered boy went into the care of PRC who then found him a wonderful forever home!

Pippa

From being up for euthanasia to the loving arms of her new dad. TAF sponsored Pippa has found her forever home! A big thank you to Project Rescue Chicago for working with TAF to make this possible.

Tori

GREAT NEWS... TAF sponsored Tori has found her forever home!!!

TAF came across this beautiful girl at our last sponsored volunteer day at the Animal Welfare League's intake facility. This lucky girl not only caught the eye of TAF but Project Rescue Chicago, too!

Tori went from sleeping on the cold kennel floor to sun bathing after a long walk at the beach. Look at the smile on her face... Tori must think that she is dreaming!

TAF wishes Tori and her new family many years of continued happiness!

Stacia

TAF would like to introduce you to another beautiful girl that we sponsored.

Poor Stacia was brought into an open access facility with 5 other Dogos that were all inbred by a backyard breeder. Stacia was the mother to the other 5 and it was apparent that her sole purpose was to breed. Stacia would immediately assume the position to be mounted when one of the male dogs approached her. I was disgusted as I witnessed her broken spirit and her willingness to succumb to whatever was expected of her by the other dogs.

Due to medical complications, Stacia was one of the three Dogos that survived and with the help of Project Rescue Chicago, we were able to pull her from the facility.

After some rehabilitation, medical attention and training, this terrified gentle giant finally received her second chance and has been placed in a loving home with a mom that would move heaven and earth to make her happy and feel loved.

Taking a chance on this lost soul was a decision that we will never regret.

Quinn

TAF would like to introduce you to Quinn.

Quinn came into our program after she was tied to a fence in an abandoned yard. This poor girl was pregnant, lethargic and scared out of her mind.

Even though Quinn was hospitalized for some time, we were unable to save her unborn babies. The medical complications that followed kept her in the hospital for weeks until she was healthy enough to go into a foster home.

As time went on, Quinn learned to trust again and soon happiness filled her heart. Quinn is now living in a quiet suburb with an amazing mom and has a sister that she loves to run around and play with. In fact, the bottom left photo of Quinn is the first time that she was ever allowed to run off leash on acres of grass! From the beginning, Quinn deserved the best and now she finally has her happy ending.
