Hustle

Hustle-one day TAF and PRC were at the shelter leaving with some new dogs for our programs when a good Samaritan walked in with a mushy American bulldog puppy. They had found him hanging over a fence in their alley, his neck tied with a telephone cord. We took him right away and quickly learned he was deaf, which is likely why someone was trying to kill him. He was adopted by a friend of TAF who also adopted a female pitbull a year later, and his mom still volunteers with our group!

Edna

Found running on a busy highway in Chicago, Edna was held at a local pound in case her owners came looking for her. They didn’t, and we knew no one would come for this senior girl. With the help of PRC, Edna was taken straight to the vet when it was obvious she was suffering from pneumonia. She was immediately hospitalized and it took almost 10 days for her to get healthy enough to leave the hospital. She is currently living in a foster home with an autistic child who LOVES her.

Brodie

TAF noticed this adorable pitbull puppy hiding in his cage on a trip to our local shelter. Brodie was treated for horrible pneumonia at the vet and he spent a few weeks in a foster home thanks to PRC. He was adopted by a friend of the foster home and now has kids and a big brother dog to keep him company!

Hiccup

TAF learned of a little poodle mix who had been thrown over a balcony when he wouldn’t stop barking. His arm and his leg were broken, and he needed emergency surgery or would need to be euthanized. This poor dog whimpered in pain and we couldn’t let him go.  After two surgeries and months of rehab, Hiccup found his forever home with two other little dogs and mom who dotes on him!

Amanda

Sick little Amanda was found wandering the streets on the Southside of Chicago. PRC pulled her and she was immediately hospitalized for pneumonia and also treated for parasites. She was so sick it took weeks for her to get better. Finally our puppy was released from the vet and allowed to be a normal puppy! She was listed for adoption and went to a wonderful home with a loving mom and a sister to run around with!

Buddy

After living for several years outside, Buddy was dumped at our local shelter. He suffered from terrible fly strike on his ears which left them raw, chewed up and infected. He was also very emaciated and had terrible teeth. He was such a mess that we got him right to our vet and he was treated for all his ailments. Buddy was adopted and lives a very comfortable life!

Buffy

Buffy and her son were dumped at a shelter because she kept peeing in the house. Instead of taking her to the vet, they just abandoned her. Well, we took them both with the help of PRC and an initial x-ray showed the most giant bladder stone our vet had ever seen! She had surgery to remove it, and was also spayed, and Buffy recovered nicely. She was adopted to a wonderful couple where she has acres of land to romp on, sweaters to wear, and she never pees in the house.

Brandon Saad

Dumped at a rural shelter, this fuzzy bear was suffering from horrible eye problems that made him grouchy and uncomfortable. PRC pulled him and TAF offered to sponsor his eye surgeries. Weeks later the transformation was amazing…Brandon Saad was a happy, playful pup who was quickly adopted by a great family!

Arlington

TAF received an email from a suburban shelter about a sweet, abusyed and injured pitbull puppy. We couldn’t get him out of our minds and headed down to get him with PRC. His wounds were raw, infected and he was also covered with tar and burns. Hospitalized and on IV medication to help combat these injuries, Arlington came around in a few weeks. He flourished in one of PRC’s amazing foster home and was adopted to a loving family!

Livy

Livy was a breeding dog that was kept outside will the sole purpose to reproduce in order for her owner to make money. Long story short... Livy was rescued and brought to an open access shelter. After weeks of going unnoticed by rescues, Livy bought herself a reprieve, in what was to be her final day, when the shelter's manager reached out to TAF for help. It was then that TAF asked Project Rescue Chicago to step in and transfer Livy into their program. TAF paid for all of Livy's medical expenses and PRC took her into their care and found her a wonderful home.

Livy was able to find her miracle and was saved not once but twice. This beautiful girl was meant for great things and it just wasn't time for her to leave this earth. We expect that Livy will make her mark on this world and share the gift of love that has been bestowed on her... I think that her new mom would agree.
