Before & After
Shamrock
SHAMROCK!!!
This past March, TAF came across a terrified pup that had been starved and was so emaciated that his head was sunken in. He had pressure sores on his back-side/spine and his eyes were caked over with mucous. The muscles in his hind legs had atrophied and his vertebras and hips were protruding. It was truly a miracle that this dog’s body was still functioning.
Well, we are proud to say that after months of medical care and rehabilitation, our pup named “Shamrock” has made a full recovery and has found his FOREVER HOME!!!
We can’t thank enough all of the people that contributed to Shamrock’s care and helped TAF cover his medical expenses. This was a team effort and what a wonderful outcome! To compare Shamrock’s before and after photos is truly surreal… what a happy ending!
Duchess
Duchess, a 5 year old shepherd, was surrendered to a local shelter when her family suddenly developed allergies to her. We met her the following day and scooped her up right away. After ensuring all of her medical needs were taken care of, she was adopted to a wonderful home and has a senior Malinois brother!
Bart
Poor little Bart was sitting at a shelter for weeks while everyone passed him over for other dogs. We felt terrible and took him into our program. He was so friendly and sweet...her deserved a chance!
TAF covered his neuter, vaccines, dental cleaning, heartworm and parasite testing.
We were delighted to hear that a few weeks later someone else saw what we saw in Bart and adopted him! He is now in a wonderful family.
Chili
Look at Chili in her cage...she sat there for months and months even though she was young, cute and friendly. Finally, one day TAF offered to cover her medical bills if someone would take her out and give her a chance....and PRC answered our request yet again.
Chili was skinny, suffering from parasites and needed to be spayed so TAF covered all of her medical care while PRC fattened her up...and about 6 weeks later she was adopted by her great parents!
Princeton
This sad, mushy puppy stole our hearts at a TAF-sponsored volunteer day at our local shelter. After recovering from kennel cough and parasites, Princeton was neutered and adopted quickly after by his awesome new mom and dad!
Regin
Regin was surrendered with his senior sister to our local shelter. He sat terrified, growling and very unhappy in the back of his cage. A long time friend of TAF and PRC wanted to give him a chance and offered to foster him if we could get him out. We headed to the shelter and took a chance...only to find out just how happy and out-going Regin was once out of his cage!
After recovering from a terrible upper respiratory infection, this handsome guy was in fact adopted by his awesome new mom!
Vinnie
Vinnie, a senior Vizsla, was surrendered at a local shelter. He caught our eye and we happily got to know this sweet, old guy who was stilll very vivacious and happy....and even better, healthy! TAF paid for his vetting including bloodwork, xrays, vaccines and neuter. Vinnie met his new owners who had a love of these adorable hunting dogs but didn't think their lifestyle was conducive to having a young, energetic dog. Vinnie was the perfect match!
O'Donnell
TAF came across this senior boxer who was so sick he was literally blowing snot bubbles out of his nose and could barely breathe. We couldn't leave him behind so we took him to our vet where he was hospitalized and on IV fluids and medication and recieved breathing treatments. It took him several weeks to recover but once he did, he met his new dads and was adopted! We are so happy because we still see O'Donnell, now Oscar, all the time at daycare!
Mater
Mater the pug was dumped at a local shelter because he was injured and the people didn't want to take care of him. Well, one word and we took the chubby little guy to the vet where it was discovered his hip was broken. We immediately scheduled the surgery and after a couple month recovery period, Mater was adopted to a wonderful mom and has a brother too!
Little Bee
Poor Little Bee was brought into a shelter in terrible condition. She was emaciated, had skin infections, had sores all over and was honestly absolutely miserable. She trusted no one and wanted to be as far away from us as possible. Fortunately a TAF follower had a ton of experience with sharpei's and offered to foster her and help her recover. A few weeks passed and every day Little Bee was better and better. She LOVED other dogs and we were so excited that PRC received a great application to adopt Little Bee...she had a giant house, a yard, great parents and two sharpei's to keep her company!
